Lesson 13:Orthographic Drawings – Sections

Guidelines

  1. Walls, roof and floors shown in section are usually filled black or heavily shaded.
  2. Wall thickness should match those in the plan.
  3. Section should be taken to show important elements whether in wall, roof or floor.
  4. Interior design features beyond the cut should be shown with thinner lines.
  5. Various floor levels and important elevations should be indicated.
  6. Interior spaces should be titled as in the plans.
  7. Miscellaneous important elevations should be noted with smaller lettering.
  8. People and objects should be drawn with realism.
  9. Sun angles, air movement or any such feature should be illustrated.
  10. A title and scale should be included.
