Lesson 13:Orthographic Drawings – Sections

Check list for section drawings

• Border and title block
• Title and scale of the drawing in the title block
• Drawing number in the title block
• For a building section, show construction details of floors, wall, and ceiling/roof.
• For a section of an interior space, it may be similar to a combination of a building section and an interior elevation. Emphasis on the interior aspects of the construction details such as cabinetwork, wall panels, dropped soffits, or suspended ceilings rather than structural details. 6. Show items drawn on the floor plan including furniture, cabinetry, appliances, equipment, etc.
• Notations.
• Dimensions, usually only vertical dimensions.
• Title and scale of the elevation under the plan view.
