• The following muscles are appreciated in the thorax region
  • Long thoracic nerve
  • Some muscles of shoulder girdle like serratus ventralis, superficial and deep perctorals. Rhomboideus, trapezius, latissimus dorsi
  • Some neck muscles like sternocephalicus, sternothyrohyoideus
  • Respiratory muscles
  • Diaphragm and its tendinous and muscular parts, external and internal intercostals, rectus thoracis, levator costarum, retractor costae, transverses thoracis (on floor of thoracic cavity over sternum).Tendinous center of diaphragm is the common site for herniation of abdominal organs.
