Bath towels are either 100 percent cotton or a cotton polyester blend. It is a piece of absorbent fabric whose chief use is for drying the body. Various styles, patterns, designs are being used. Mostly towels are available in pile or cut pile effect (Fig.16.9).
Designs in towels
Printed designs: Printed towels cover a wide range of prints:
Jacquard designs: A design is woven into the towel on a jacquard loom. These towels feature a decorative area of sometimes slightly upraised fabric.
Embellishments: To add a decorative flair, embroidery is also done or trimmings are used at the edges.
Shower curtains : Shower curtains add more décor to bathroom. These are mostly water resistant. Special fabric shower curtains are available in huge range of colours, styles and even different patterns. Motifs in shower curtain include water themes and beautiful contemporary designs. Fabric shower curtains (Fig.16.10) give a more elegant and sophisticated look.
