Preparation

Cards: Select white or light coloured thick cardboard paper. It can be prepared even in a paper and pasted to cardboard.

Size: It should be large enough for everyone to see. For a group of 30-50, it should be 22”x28” size. For small groups, 11”x14” is adequate.

Number: It is best to limit the cards to 10 or 12 for once talk.

Content:

  • Each set should have title card. The story should be divided into a number of scenes which are to be presented in number of individual cards.
  • In order to prepare more effective cards study the talk, pick the main ideas those farmers wants to remember and prepare picture for each idea which will give visual impact to the idea.
  • Each card must have a message presented in simple form of linings, drawings, photographs, cartoons, cut outs with few words.

Design: Make rough sketch on plain paper. Draw a guideline for needed lettering mar, mark off area for illustrative materials. Use drawing pencil, crayons, paint or ink. Use pen with a thick point or brush.

Lettering: Have lettering large enough for the group to read, at least 1” high.

Colours: Use dark colours but not more than three colours.

Words: Use minimum wordings of not more than 10 to 12 word per card.
