Origin: Asia

  • A profile breed of the smaller bodied type goose.
  • General characteristics: male and female
  • Carriage: Upright, compact and active.
  • Type: Body compact and plump. Back reasonably short, broad, flat, and sloping, to give a characteristic upright carriage. Breast well rounded and plump, and carried high. Wings large, strong and high-up, carried closely. Stern well rounded, and well-developed paunch. Tail close and carried well out.
  • Head: Medium for size, and proportionate. Bill stout at base, symmetrical, medium for size. Knob, large rounded and prominent (smaller in the goose than the gander). Eyes bold.
  • Neck: Long, carried upright, but with graceful arch and refined (longer in the gander than the goose).
  • Legs and feet: Legs medium. Shanks strong, medium for length. Toes straight, well spread and webbed.
  • Plumage: This should be reasonably tight.

Colour

  • The white
  • Plumage of both sexes: Pure white.
  • In both sexes: Bill and knob orange.
  • Eyes blue. Legs and webs orange-yellow.
  • The brown-grey
  • Plumage of both sexes: Head dark brown, with face fawn up to demarcation line above the eyes.
  • Face band a definite white band or line from top of head to as far down the face as possible.
  • Neck fawn with prominent dark brown stripe down middle of back of neck and for its entire length. Back brown.
  • Breast greyish-fawn from under mandible well down to body where it becomes lighter.
  • Thighs at side of breast brown, each feather edged with a lighter shade of greyish-fawn, approaching white.
  • Wing bow and coverts medium brown, each feather laced with a lighter greyish-fawn edging, approaching white; flights brown. Stern, paunch and tail a lighter shade of greyish-fawn, approaching white, the tail having a broad band of russet-brown across with the light edging.
  • In both sexes: Bill and knob black. Eyes brown. Legs and web dull orange.
