Angel fish (Pterophyllum scalare)

ANGEL FISH (Pterophyllum scalare) 
  • Angel fish is an exotic fish which is widely found in Amazon river. It grows to a maximum size of 15 cm length and 26 cm width. The body of the fish is compressed laterally with wide dorsal and pelvic fins that resemble the wings of the bird. It feeds mainly on live foods, small fish fry and zooplankton. Popular varieties of angel fish are black angel, golden angel, velvet angel, veil tail angel and ghost angel. The colouration depends on the variety.
