SIAMESE FIGHTER FISH (Betta splendens)

  • Fighter fish is also called as Siamese fighting fish. It grows to a maximum of 6 cm. The fish is characterized by the presence of an ancillary organ to respire atmospheric air. Males are more colourful and attractive than females. The fish feeds on mosquito larvae, live foods like minced beef, small insects etc. Males build bubble nests during breeding and guard the eggs.
