6.2.7.7 Drug toxicity
If the therapeutic agents like antibiotics are included in high levels, it develops some pathological change in the animal. The two most drugs causing pathological changes are erythromycin and sulphonamides. The former produces toxic vacuolar degeneration of proximal renal tubular epithelium. Sulphonamides also affect the kidney, with renal tubular casts and tubular necrosis. |
