Functions /purpose of Assessment

The major functions of assessing young children are

  • To gather information about the child that will facilitate the determination of child’s strengths and weaknesses
  • To plan suitable intervention programmes or making decisions about children that will assist the child.
  • The purpose of assessment is to identify infants and preschoolers who may be handicapped or at risk for developmental delay. The purpose of assessment include
