Group 2: Proteins

  • This group includes the major sources of proteins in our diet such as dals, whole pulses, milk, eggs, fish, poultry and meat.
  • One serving of each of these foods provide about 5-6 g. of proteins.
  • The number varies with the person’s age and body size. For example, an adult woman may need 3 servings, whereas a teenager may need 5 servings.
