Group 5: Oils, fats and sugars

  • Oils and fats including oils, ghee, butter and vanaspati used as a spread, seasoning, or shortening. . Sugar, jaggery and preparations such as jams, syrups etc.
  • Serving size for oils, fats and sugars is 5g.
  • Three or more servings a day are suggested.
