INFANT STIMULATION PROGRAMMES 3 (0+3)
Module 2: Observation and Recording the Development of Infants (birth – 12 months) in different Child Care Centers
Instructions for students:

- Select a child in the age range of 3-6, 7-12, 13-18 and 19-24 months
- Calculate the age of the each child by deducting date of birth from date of observation for example
Date of observation = 2011-06-06 Child’s date of birth = 2010-12-30 Child’s age is = 0-05-06 = 5 months 6 days
- Understand the concept s of performed skill, emerging skill and not at emerged skill.
- Performed skill is one when the child has mastered the task.
- Emerging skill is one when the child is ready and attempting to learn but not yet performed.
- Not at emerged skill is one when the child is unable to attempt the task
- Read and assess the motor and cognitive abilities and socio-emotional and language abilities as listed below in the checklists for the age groups
- 3-6 months
- 7-12 months
- 13-18 months and
- 19-24 months
- Write a detailed report separately for all above age groups by discussing their performance and give suggestions for improvement.
