Scheme for Welfare of Children in Need of Care and Protection

Objective:
To provide care, protection & near family atmosphere for orphan & destitute children & to provide food, clothing, shelter, education, vocational training, medical and recreational facilities.

Eligibility:
Registered voluntary organizations working in the field of child welfare for at least 3 years are eligible to get grant-in-aid for a unit of 25 children.

1. Orphan Children or children from single parent families below 18 years of age (boys and girls) are eligible.
2. Family income should be less than Rs.6,000/- p.a. Income certificate from Tahsildars to be obtained.

Pattern of Assistance:
Maintenance grant of Rs.400/- per month per child, Rent of Rs.50/- p.m. per child is provided where the cottage is housed in rented building.

• Construction grant of Rs.10,000/ per child for construction and the non- recurring grant of Rs.500/- per child for starting the destitute cottage is provided. 90% of the estimated cost is met by State government and 10% by the organization.
