V-shape yoke

  1. Mark the 2/3rd level of armhole
  2. Draw a slanting line from this point to armhole
  3. Separate the yoke from the lower portion of the bodice
  4. Take a big sheet of brown paper
  5. Align the drafting of the lower portion in such a way that the centre front touches the side of brown paper and the top edge touches the top of brown paper.
  6. Trace out the drafting
  7. Again align the drafting in such a way that top edge touches the top of brown paper and the centre front touches the side seam of the first traced out drafting.
  8. Give the slanting line from the top edge armhole intersection to the lower level from where the yoke starts.
  9. Extend the length of bodice to the desired length of dress.
  10. This drafting can be traced thrice for more gathers or for pleats.
  11. Mark the grainline and write down the measurements to complete the drafting.
