Lesson 10 : Yokes

Glass shaped yoke

Mark the 2/3rd level of armhole Draw the desired shape of the yoke Separate the yoke from the lower portion of the bodice Mark a point till where the gathers are desired Take a big sheet of brown paper Align the drafting of the lower portion in such a way that the centre front touches the side of brown paper and the top edge touches the top of brown paper. Trace out the drafting Again align the drafting in such a way that top edge touches the top of brown paper and the centre front touches the point till the gathers are desired of the first traced out drafting. Make the slanting line for the gathers as shown in the diagram. Extend the length of bodice to the desired length of dress. This drafting can be traced thrice for more gathers or for pleats. Mark the grainline and write down the measurements to complete the drafting.
