Designs made by painting: Hand painting is probably the oldest method of decorating fabric. It is done with the help of brushes and kalam . Designing requires lot of creativity and dexterity on the part of the designer. Kalamkari and Patchitra are the finest examples of hand painting with the use of vegetable dyes. An example of hand printed design is illustrated in Fig.2.14.
