Harmony of texture

This is more applicable for woven designs. Whenever we combine different textures of yarns in making elaborate woven designs (Fig. 6.14) they should harmonize with rests of the background fabric as well as with each other. Mostly the aim of introducing yarns, which are different in size (count) and texture than background is to create variety in design. This variety should be created keeping in mind the principle of harmony.
