Scales for measuring intelligence

Stanford – Binet Intelligence scale: The idea of Intelligence Quotient was first used in the scale in 1916. It is an individual test and is used primarily with children upto 14. After 14 years of Chronological age, mental age does not increase.

Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS)

For measuring the intelligence of adults. Developed by David Wechsler (1955). It is as individual ten. It consists of a wide variety of sub tests which are grouped into two types viz. Verbal and performance.

Verbal: Information, general comprehension memory span, arithmetic reasoning, Similanita, Opposites, and vocabulary.

Performance: Picture arrangement, Picture completion, blocks design object assembly.
