- Next question is where to put the drawings
- Very simple if it is only one drawing, more difficult if more than one drawing has to be drawn.
- In addition the drawings and the sheets should be set in a logical flow.
General guidelines:
- When placing only one drawing place it towards the right for easy reading.
- If there is a large drawing and space for small details of the large one place the small details on the right for ease of viewing.
- If there is a full drawing with details of it place the details close to where they appear on the large drawing.
- If there is space on the sheet for a front view of and a top view, draw the top view above the front view.
- If you have a front view and a right side view on a sheet, the correct location would be to place the right view to the right of the front view.
- Separate drawings with enough space. Sub dividing a sheet with lines is also accepted.
- All little and border blocks should be the same in the set. All sheets in a set should be the same.
- Orient the drawing the same way each time it is drawn.
- When the parts list is very large a separate drawing sheet may be used for the parts list alone.
