French Curves / Flexible rule

These are used to draw irregularly curved lines smoothly. Rigid irregular curves are called ‘French curves’ which are available in several shapes and sizes, with which the drafter can draw a curved line that have no true radius. A flexible curve differs from the French curve in that it is thicker and is made of flexible plastic material that can be bent to any shape desired. Once shaped it can be used as a drawing edge just like the French curves. (Figure – 15)
