Tape
Many types of manufactured tape can be substituted for lines and symbols on architectural drawings. Pressure sensitive tape with preprinted symbol and special lines is used to produce lines and symbols that otherwise would be difficult and time consuming to construct. A special roll on applicator enables to draw curves by using tape. Matt-surface tape helps in adding temporary changes to a drawing by drawing the symbol, note or change on transparent matt-surface tape. If the drawing is changed, the tape can be removed and a new symbol added or the symbol can be made permanent. Strips of masking tape can be used to draw equal lengths of many close lines or to mask areas not to be lined.
Drafting Tape: The drafting media is held to the board with drafting tape which is specifically manufactured to hold drawings to a drafting board. These are available in dots and strips (Figure – 17) also which are precut pieces of draft tape mounted to a paper backer and loaded into a box. . This not masking tape which is more adhesive and can damage the drafting media when it is removed.
