2.4.3.Measurement of Intelligence

Intelligence tests are used for this purpose. First series of intelligence tests formulated by Alfred Binet (a French Psychologist) in 1905.

Scales for measuring intelligence

1.Stanford – Binet Intelligence scale:

The idea of Intelligence Quotient(IQ) was first used in the scale in 1916. It is an individual test and is used primarily with children upto 14 years. After 14 years of chronological age(CA), mental age (MA)does not increase.

As per this scale those who have more mental age than their chronological age are supposed to have more IQ values and the vice versa. Some of the cattegories of people acccording to this scale is given below.
