Narrow machine stitched hem

This is commonly used for finishing the hem of a man’s shirt. Stabilize the edge with a regular stitch at 1/8 inch from the edge. Make a second fold of the same width and finish the hem with a machine stitch. This is a quick and easy method commonly employed by tailor’s to finish the edges of a salwar kameez.
