Hem for circular & flared skirts

The raw edge of these types of skirts is fuller than the point at which it is hemmed. Fold the raw edge and machine stitch. Draw up the bobbin thread and make small gathers so that the fullness is distributed evenly. This will help the folded edge to lie flat when folded a second time. For a neat look, the hem can be finished with slip stitch or a hem stitch.
