Symmetrical motif

A symmetrical motif is a figure comprised of two or more parts of identical size, shape and content on both the sides of an imaginary centre line. It shows formal balance. Each identical part is known as fundamental unit. They may have either vertical symmetry or horizontal symmetry or both (Fig. 7.1.A, B & C).
