The smaller spades are lighter in weight and are very handy to work in a limited space. A soil depth of about 15 to 20 cm or so is dug in one stroke of a bigger spade. This simple implement consists of a metal blade and a wooden handle. Both the components are variable in different spades. This is also known as Kodali.
