Sprayers and dusters

Sprayers: Plants are susceptible to the attack of many pests and diseases. A range of effective pesticides are available in the market. Sprayers and dusters are used for applying pesticides, weedicides and fertilizers. These can be operated both manually and with power.

The sprayer consists of a fat or slightly covered rectangular assemblage which can be carried on the back with the help of straps. The spray liquid is delivered through the delivery system consisting of lance and nozzle which is connected with the pump by a flexible hose.

Dusters: Dust formations of pesticides are applied through dusters. Dusters essentially consist of a container (hopper), a system of keeping dust particles agitated and in motion and to be fed into a current of air so that the particles are discharged in the form of fine dust dispersed both horizontally and laterally over a large area. Dusters may be of different types. The power for operation may be obtained by hand or from an engine. Accordingly they are termed as hand dusters or power dusters. The hopper capacity also varies depending upon the type of dusters.
