Tracheal percussion and auscultation

TRACHEAL PERCUSSION

  • Pleximeter is kept on the skin overlying the trachea in the mid neck region and it is struck with the acoustic percussion hammer in the large animal. Simultaneously auscultation of lung is done.
  • Normal lung ® sounds are distant and indistinct.
  • In consolidated lung ® it is loud and distinct.
