Biopsy

BIOPSY

  • Instruments used: vim silvermann needle or a liver trocar or true-cut biopsy needles.

Blind biopsy:

  • Through the stylet, a needle is pushed into (1.0-1.5 cm) the liver tissue. This is accompanied by crunzing sensation. The needle is inserted until the adjustable sleeve come against the skin at depth of 5-6 cm.

Aspiration biopsy:

  • Needle biopsy: By using forked stylet filled with barbs. First the needle is filled with thin stylet is introduced. The stylet is introduced into the liver tissue. Further the needle is inserted to cover the end of forked stylet and both are removed together with the fragment of liver tissue.
