OPTHMALMOSCOPY

  • DDO: Distance is 76 cm between patient’s eye and observer’s eye.
  • CDO: Distance is 4-5 cm

Indirect ophthalmoscopy:

  • Employs 15-30 diapter lens placed in front of the eye and the observer’s view (51 cm). The distance between patient’s eye and lens depend upon the focal length of lens. Normally 4-5 cm. the micro image of fundus is formed in front of the lens but the magnifications is less when compared to direct ophthalmoscope.
