Intra dermal tuberculin testing, culture sensitivity test

INTRA DERMAL TUBERCULIN TESTING

• 0.1 ml of PPD is injected intra dermally. After 24-48 or 72 hours, the area of injection was examined and not the in duration. Based on the observation, we can make diagnosis of tuberculosis.

Thickness Interpretation

• Less than 2 mm Doubtful
• More than 2 mm Positive

Culture & sensitivity test:

• Suspected sample can be taken in different wells based on the lethal of drug on the organism the efficiency of the drug can be ascertained.

Direct method:

• Upright image of fundus is magnifying 10-15 times. It is used in early retinal atrophy. This gives a view of the fundus light effect reflex (light reflection) through the pupil from the illuminated fundus. This is normally bright, homogenous and color depends upon the tapetum.
