2.4.3.1 Purpose of field trips and tour 

1. To stimulate interest, conviction and action in respect of a specific purpose.

2. To impress the group about the feasibility and utility of a series of related practices.

3. To induce a spirit of healthy competition.

4. To help people to recognize problems, to develop interest, to generate discussions and to promote action.

5. To see the results of new practices, operation of new tools and implements and to see the accomplishments of other villages, colleges, farms, etc.

This method easily motivate farmers to go for improved practices.
