2.5.1.2 Group discussion 

All the farmers cannot be contacted by extension workers individually because of large of the clientele and time constraints as the part of the extension worker. It is convenient and feasible to contact them in groups. This method is commonly known as group discussion. It is used to encourage and stimulate the people to learn more about the problems that concern the community through discussion. It is a good method of involving the local people in developing local leadership and in deciding on a plan of action in a democratic way. Another advantage with group discusssion is that all the participants of the meet will have a binding on the decisions made in the meet and thus providing opportunities for large scale adoption of new ideas.
