2.6.1 Introduction
Individual and group methods cannot reach everyone who wants and needs information. Hence, mass methods such as exhibition, radio talk, television talk, motion pictures, slide shows and printed materials viz, news article, feature article, leaflets, folders, pamphlets, booklets, etc. are used to reach large number of people quickly. Mass contact methods enable us to make large numbers of farmers aware of new ideas and technologies or altering them to sudden emergencies. While the amount of detailed information that can be transmitted by mass media is limited, they will serve an important and valuable function in stimulating the stakeholders’ interest in new practices. Once stimulated or are become aware through mass media, users will seek additional information from the neighbours, friends, extension workers or progressive farmers in their locality. The mass media may be used singly or in combination as needed, to meet the proposed objectives of the programme. These methods are mostly used to create are awareness about the new deer: The important mass contact methods include compaions, exhibitions and several audio, visual and audio-visual methods. /font> |
