GALL BLADDER, PANCREAS AND SPLEEN 

Gall bladder

  • It lies between the lobes of liver
  • Thin walled and green in colour
  • A temporary storage organ for the secretions of the liver

Pancreas

  • It is a diffused structure in the body cavity among the coils of intestine
  • It also extends into the liver forming a hepatopancreas
  • It secretes digestive enzymes
  • Pancreatic islets produce insulin

Spleen

  • It is a dark red, pyramidal structure lying on or behind the stomach
  • It has no digestive function, but instrumental in blood cell formation
