MID BRAIN

• The mesencephalon is relatively large. It is made up of the dorsal optic tectum and the ventricle tegumentum. The optic tectum appear as two optic lobes from the dorsal side. There is considerable variation in the histological structure of the optic tectum. The mid ventral part of the optic tectum contain a protuberance called torus which in the integration between the sense of equilibrium and sence of vision.
