IMMUNOLOGY OF FISHES

  • Generally, immune response in a host can be classified as
    • Innate and adaptive immune response
    • Non-specific and specific immune response
  • Innate immunity is the immunological response which is general and it is effected by the body surface (scales and mucus of fish), macrophage, interferon and inflammation. Adaptive immunity is caused by the T cells (T cell receptors)

  • Fish has non-specifc immune mechanisms and specific immune mechanisms
