2.4.2. Affinity chromatography support matrices

The support matrices should have large surface area and suitable side chains for ligand attachment. They should be chemically inert to avoid nonspecific adsorption during the separation. There are many types of support matrices.

  1. Organic supports
  2. Inorganic supports
  3. Synthetic supports
  4. Compositie supports.
