2.6.3.4.2. Polyethylene glycols

Polyethylene glycols are the widely used polar stationary phase with "wax“. They are not substituted with any groups. They are less stable, less robust and have lower temperature limits than most polysiloxanes. In this column, the separation is due to the polarity and the boiling points of the compounds. They have shorter lifetime and more susceptible to damage by over heating or exposure to oxygen.
