Shellfish Breeding and Hatchery Management(2+1)
This course deals with the breeding aspects of shellfishes and their hatchery techniques together with management.
For the better understanding and learning of this course, the basic requirements are minimum knowledge on endocrinology, physiology, anatomy and behaviour of different shellfishes and a fair knowledge on the handling of different shellfishes. It is essential to know that this is an application science course and the knowledge that is gained from this course content needs to be updated and upgraded through all possible means like reading technical articles on the subject, practising in hatcheries, etc. Therefore it is strongly recommended that the learners should as and when possible should constantly get the field information on different aspects and supplement with the regular learning.
