5.2.19 Find and Replace

Using Find and Replace features, we can search a text or formats and also we can change it.

Finding text

1. Select Find option in Edit menu
2. Type the word to be found in Find What
3. Se lect Match case, Find whole words, and use pattern matching, sounds like if needed. (Pattern matching can be used if * or? are given. Sounds like will find the words such as hear, here etc. i.e. the words with same sound will be found).
4. Press Ok button. I f the given word is found in the text, it will be highlighted otherwise Text not found message will be displayed.

Replacing a text with another

1. Select Replace option in Edit menu
2. Type the word to be found in Find What
3. Type the new word in Replace with
4. Specify Match case, Find whole words, pattern matching, sounds like if needed
5. Press Find Next to find the given word.
6. Replace button will replace the word found with the new word
7. Replace all button will replace all the word with new word

Find and Replace formatting

Formatting such as Bold, italics, underline, line spacing, and font can also be found and replaced by Find and Replace.

1. Select Find option in Edit menu
2. Place the pointer at Find What
3. Press Format button and select the desired format to be found
4. If the format has to be replaced by another, move pointer to Replace with, press Format button and select the new format.
5. Press Replace or Replace all buttons to replace the format with new format.
