5.3.7 Layouts
When we want to add a new slide to our presentation, Select menu insert - New Slide. This opens a New Slide Dialogue box, which allows us to select a layout for the slide we are adding. Some important layouts have been explained below. Title Slide This layout is usually used for the first slide in our presentation. It has two blocks i.e. the Title block in which we can type in the Title text and the second block for the Sub-Title text. These blocks can hold text or pictures. The block can be moved from one location to another by clicking on the border and dragging. On clicking the border the placeholders will have small back dots which are called handles. These handles are used to change the size of the block. Bulleted List This layout has a block for typing in a Title and a series of points, which can have multi-level bullets. Graph Layout This layout allows creating a graph. It uses the same chart programmes as Microsoft Excel. Table This layout allows creating a Microsoft Word Table. ClipArt & Text These layouts allow the user to add bulleted points and Clip Art. Clip Art is a small programme from Microsoft which is a collection of pictures. These pictures have been divided into a number of categories like cartoons, people, technology, etc. Blank The above layouts that were discussed were pre-defined layouts by PowerPoint. The blank layout is a layout where the user can include text, graph, table or even any kind of data saved in Windows applications. |
