5.4.32 Goal Seek

Goal seek is an operation of changing a cell value based on desired value. Goal seek is performed on the cells that has formula.

1. Type a formula in a cell
2. Select Goal Seek in Tools menu
3. Give the address of cell where the formula is typed in Set Cell
4. Give the expected value in To Value
5. Specify the address of cell whose value is to be changed in By Changing Cell e.g. Type 10 in A1 and 5 in A2 and type a formula +A1*A2 in A3. Result in A3 will be 50. Now choose Goal seek option and give A3 in Set cell and 60 in To Value and A1 in By changing Cell. The value in A1 will be changed to 12. If A2 is given in Changing cell, A2 value will be changed to 6.
