5.3.4 Template

A Template is ready-made collection of various designs and colours, which can be applied to slides. The advantages of a template are that the user does not have to waste time in formatting the slides. In this option by choosing a template the user specifies the design of the slide before it is inserted. Each slide the user inserts thereafter will have the same template. For choosing a template for our presentation:

  • Choose menu FORMAT - Apply design. An Apply Design dialogue box opens up
  • Select the presentation design folder under POWERPOINT
  • The sample of each template can be viewed at the bottom right of the dialogue box before it is applied.
  • Click once on the template name in the list to be chosen and click on OK.

By applying a template we are specifying the looks of the slide before creating them. We can invoke the template dialogue box by selecting template in the welcome dialogue box or clicking on the template button in on the right hand bottom side of the status bar.
