5.3.40 Now Layering

Using the drawing toolbar, we can create complete drawings by combining shapes. It may be necessary to overlap objects to get just the right look. PowerPoint lets we control which items go on which layer. Bringing an object forward one level or sending it back one level. The Bring Forward and Send Background commands move an object up or down in the stack one level at a time. Say we have a stack of four objects and we want to move the top object down one level.

Select the object we want to move

  • Do a right click on any of the selected object and click on Order then on Send Background or Bring Forward or click on the word Draw in the Drawing toolbar and select Order then on Send Background or Bring Forward. Bringing objects to the front and sending objects to the back of a stack
  • The Bring To Front and send To Back commands move an object to the top and the bottom of a stack, respectively.

Select the object we want to move

  • Do a right click on any of the selected object and click on Order then on Bring To Front or Send To Back or click on the word Draw in the Drawing toolbar and select Order then on Bring To Front or Send To Back.
