5.3.43 Adding Effects to a Slide show

Slide Transition: Before running the Slide Show the user can assign special effects to the slides. PowerPoint has a variety of Transition effects to choose from. Before applying Transition effects it is better to switch to the Slide Sorter view so that all the slides are seen together.

To add transition

  • Switch to Slide Sorter view
  • Choose a slide to which we want to add the effect.
  • Choose menu Slide Show - Transition

The Transition dialogue box appears. The various dialogue box are explained below.

Effect - The name of the transition effect, selected from the drop-down list. Slow, Medium, Fast - Sets the speed of the transition.

Advance : Only on Mouse Click - Makes transition to next slide when mouse is clicked.

Automatically After - Makes transition to next slide after number of seconds entered in the text box.

Animation Settings : To set animations settings for objects in a slide.

Choose menu Slide Show -> Custom animation

* This opens the Build dialogue box.

A Custom animation dialogue box opens up.
