Narrow crown

Tight, horizontal folds across the crown of a sleeve are caused by the crown being too narrow at the point where the folds occur. The sleeve will feel tight, especially when the arm is raised.

Mark the positions of the folds with tailor’s chalk and mark the corresponding lines on the pattern.

Let out the sleeve head at the points marked, curving into the original line. The amount involved is not likely to be more than ¼” (6mm) each side.
