Itis obvious that this defect is caused by a fault in balance; in this case of the trousers having been cut too open in the legs for the figure. The crease lines are swinging inwards at the hem and the outside leg seams appear to be twisting and swinging forward.
If the defect is only very slight, it may be possible to correct it by releasing the trousers from the waistband across the back and pulling them up. However, if this is not effective, the outside leg seam must be taken in and the inside leg seam let out by the same amount - W'-%" (l3mm-19mm) should be sufficient. Alter back and front patterns in the same way and re-draw the crease lines in the centre of each leg.
The reverse of this defect may also occur: that of the trousers being cut too close in the legs. Alter the pattern as described above, but in reverse.
